Inside Sales Representative

Job Overview:
As an Inside Sales Representative, you will play a crucial role in driving sales and revenue growth for the company. Working closely with the sales team, you will be responsible for engaging with potential customers, nurturing leads, and closing sales deals. Your focus will be on leveraging your sales skills to effectively communicate the value of our products and services to prospects. The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for representing the company in a professional and courteous manner and helping the customer with any needs they may have.

Duties:

  • Establish wholesale accounts by determining if first time callers are automotive related businesses. If so, the salesperson must:
  • Inform the customer what information we would need to settheir business up as a wholesale account.
  • Receive the name of the person who would be managing relations with Auto Accessories of America for the customer, and gethis/her telephone number, fax number, and any e-mail addresses they may have.
  • Provide the customer with policies the customer must abide by to maintain wholesale pricing, while also assessing potential annual purchase amount to determine starting discount level.
  • Discuss any current or future needs the customer may have.
  • Field orders from wholesale accounts by providing the customer with the current prices and availability regarding the parts the customer wishes to order. The Salesperson must provide the customer with any information relating to the length of time before they receive their order, any pricing specials, and any credit the customer may have.
  • Ensure wholesale customer satisfaction by tracking orders, answering any questions the customer may have once they receive the product, providing the customer with any product installation information, handling product returns (establishing credit or exchange in a timely manner), and allowing the customer to vent any frustrations they may have.
  • Independently drives and generates growth with assigned wholesale accounts through:

-Consultative selling

-Regular analysis of account performance to identify opportunities and successes

-Communicating and placing New Product Releases

-Ensuring all CA branded products are placed on wholesaler websites

-Reestablishing prior wholesale accounts as customers to recoup lost sales opportunities

  • Communicate sales successes and failures on a regular cadence to the Director of Sales.
  • Field orders from retail customers by answering the telephone and entering the order into the computer, providing the customer with the current price of the product he/she ordered, informing the customer how long the product will take to be delivered, and focused on converting the phone call in to a sale.
  • Ensure retail customer satisfaction by utilizing the same techniques and providing the customer with the same information as indicated in the 4th general description above.
  • Assist our E-Commerce team as needed with reviewing and releasing E-commerce orders, following up with customers’ requests for information and help with Customer Service issues.
  • In House only – Miscellaneous duties such as meeting with walk-in customers in our showroom, retrieving customers samples, and getting information from the Milroy facility to help solve any customer problems.
  • Be willing and able to attend automotive car shows and events if requested. This would require out of town travel.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales, Sales & Service manager and/or President/CEO.

SKILLS:

  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and listening).

  • Possess an outgoing personality, professional assertiveness and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

  • Knowledge of automotive products, brands and terminology a PLUS
  • Experience working in an AS400 Environment a PLUS

AUTO BODY PAINTER

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK PERFORMED:

The Auto Body Painter is responsible for the proper preparation of various surfaces for paint application on vehicle parts and accessories and applying base and clear coats or hydro graphic printing. The Auto Body Painter is responsible for production flow to meet performance goals and maintaining the high-level quality that customers expect from our products.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Clean, prep, and inspect painting equipment prior to use.
  • Sand, clean, and prep parts and/or accessories for paint and inspect each prior to painting.
  • Mix coatings with reducer and catalyst at correct mixtures, using color mixture equipment.
  • Spray primers/sealers/coatings with gravity feed HVLP spray guns.
  • Mix & apply color and clear coating with spray equipment to meet coverage and gloss standards.
  • Check wet film mil thickness with wet mil gauge.
  • Check for runs, sags, or dry spots to ensure quality finish. Correct any errors in applications.
  • Troubleshoot any imperfections during paint application.
  • Buff, polish, or otherwise prepare finished pieces for shipment.
  • Manage work order paperwork and ensure correct documentation follows parts through the manufacturing process.
  • Adhere to prescribed production lead times for concurrent projects.
  • Maintain equipment to meet operation standards, but not including repair of equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment according to established guidelines and quality standards.
  • Maintain paint booth cleanliness and filter changes and log sheets.
  • Ensure hazardous waste is handled properly and placed in proper containers.
  • Cross train in other areas of the manufacturing facility as needed.
  • Communicate clearly with internal customers including the Product Inspector regarding product quality and other issues. Listen to and implement any feasible feedback internal customers may provide to ensure their expectations are being met.
  • Maintain and continually update data for Continuous Improvement efforts, team job performance measures, and individual performance measures.
  • Properly shut down and organize the working area at the end of each day.
  • Communicate to appropriate individuals when tools and supplies need to be ordered.
  • Other duties as assigned by Production Supervisor. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One year certification from college or technical school; or 3+ years related painter experience in an automotive or manufacturing/industrial setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Painter certification a plus
  • Strong arm, hand, and finger dexterity with demonstrated physical capacity to reach, handle, finger, and feel.
  • Attentive to detail, quality focused and willingness to learn and drive processes.
  • Great organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and be flexible to change.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.
  • Basic computer skills to be able to determine and mix paint formulars according to color code.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The Auto Body Painter is regularly subject to bending, squatting, pushing, lifting objects up to 50 lbs., crawling, and working in otherwise awkward positions. The Auto Body Painter must also possess the ability to manipulate his/her fingers, hands, and wrists in repetitive motion(s). Must be able to pass respirator fit test.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:
The Auto Body Painter works in a well-lighted environment but is subject to occasional high decibel sounds associated with production and paint fumes also associated with production.  Subject to extreme repetitive motion.  Other duties include working with tools and/or machinery and other items that have very sharp edges, may be under high levels of pressure or are extremely hot.

MANUFACTURING ASSOCIATE

The Manufacturing Associate may be assigned to work in several departments depending on workload and is responsible for ensuring the expectations of its internal and the company’s external customers are met by completing intermediate and final production processes. The Manufacturing Associate will inspect each product to find and correct flaws prior to routing it to the next operation or inspection station. Place all cosmetic and needed hardware on the product, cut and glue excess material, and clean the product to ensure customer satisfaction.

Shipping/Receiving Associate

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK PERFORMED:

Performs various types of product packing and shipping in accordance with established procedures and/or commercial standards; receives and stocks incoming materials and supplies and prepares shipments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Processes all in- and outbound shipments including but not limited to sorting, logging, delivering, packing, and shipping.
  • Audits each shipment prior to packing to ensure that goods match order.
  • Packs and labels product based on established standards.
  • Prepares shipping and receiving documentation, maintains orderly files for all documentation.
  • Processes all receiving transactions and paperwork.
  • Inspects all incoming freight for damage, follows up with purchasing to resolve any damaged freight issues.
  • Assists in maintaining safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
